Now that the Plan has been approved by EDDC, the last stage is for the electors of Uplyme to vote on whether they want the Plan to be “made” – that is, used by EDDC to determine local planning applications.
If the plan is made, the planning policies written in it will have the same weight as national planning policy. If the plan is not made (that is, more than 50% of those voting do not agree with it), then EDDC will continue to make decisions based on national and district policy, without regard to the Plan itself. So, whether you agree with the plan or not, it’s important that you vote: this will help determine what happens in Uplyme until 2031!
