It may seem soon after the election to worry about this, but EDDC’s Annual Canvass is now underway and Household Enquiry Forms are being delivered to all East Devon properties. The information that EDDC gathers from this enables it to produce the new electoral register for 2015/2016 and ensures that everyone who should be entitled to vote can do so. The new register will be published on 1 December 2015.
You can also choose whether or not to be on the public register – which is sold to companies doing mass mailings – so if you are plagued by junk mail, this may be cut down if you tick the right boxes!
The Electoral Commission has produced an electoral registration leaflet explaining recent changes to the way that voters are registered (PDF).
