Council Meetings

The full meeting of the Parish Council is held on the second Wednesday of every month, except in August, when there is a summer recess.  The meeting is open to the public to attend.  There is a public participation session in every meeting, where members of the public can ask questions about items on the agenda or raise points for Members to consider in their discussions.  Minutes are available to view once approved by the Council, or upon request in draft format.

The Planning Committee have scheduled meetings on the fourth Wednesday of every month, usually starting at 6.00pm, at the Village Hall.  However, the quantity of applications and subsequent deadlines for comments on their duty as a statutory consultee means that an extraordinary meeting usually has to be held each month.  These are normally held prior to the full Council meetings for convenience.  There is a public participation session in every meeting for members of the public to speak in favour or against each application to be considered during that meeting.  Comments will be taken into consideration by the Committee during their deliberations.  Minutes are available to view once approved by the committee, or upon request in draft format.

The Finance & Risk committee examine larger financial considerations and any risk assessments prior to them being put before full Council.  They usually take a deeper dive into the detail of any information which comes before them and will then pass those considered recommendations to full Council to make a final resolution.  Annually, the committee meets in March to discuss any audit considerations, and in November to plan the budget needs of the following year.  Minutes are available to view once approved by the committee, or upon request in draft format.

Estates & Personnel Committee examines any matters pertaining to the Council’s assets and its staff.  The Committee meets twice annually in November and March, but additional extraordinary meetings may be held throughout the year.  Minutes are available to view once approved by the committee, or upon request in draft format.
