Many residents living in the Harcombe valley will know that a controversial application to dump hardcore and similar rubble for the next 5 years was granted by Dorset County Council against the advice of the planners and despite strong local opposition (including the Parish Council).
(See the WDDC web site for documents pertaining.)
Once the planning conditions have been approved at a meeting on Friday, a permit will have to be applied for from the Environment Agency. If you will be adversely affected by the site, you can write to Catriona Bogan at the EA to register your concerns.
Her email is catriona.bogan@environment-agency.gov.uk, and the telephone number is 01392 354011.
Update, Sept. 4th
We are informed that the applicant’s waste recovery plan was rejected by the EA, and any consequent permit application is likely to fail. A new plan can be submitted, of course.
