Are you a Community Champion?

Then you are used to making a difference in Uplyme and you could be one step away from helping shape the future of the parish by becoming a parish councillor in the local elections taking place on 4th May 2023. The Council have a role in neighbourhood planning, affordable housing, road safety, events, and helping other non-profit making organisations so the decisions they make affect your everyday lives.

Nominations have to be returned between 27th March and 4th April 2023 to be part of a group of community-minded individuals who want to make a real difference and create a legacy for future generations of Uplymers.

We are under-represented by women in the parish; you can read ‘Amy’s story’ to find out what it is like to be a female parish councillor below.

So, if you want to become involved but would like to know more, contact Zishan (the Clerk to the Council) without delay for a nomination pack – she will be happy to answer your questions and tell you about the role. Email: clerk@uplymeparishcouncil.org or tel: 07413 947067.
