As part of the River Lim Path improvement works, it is necessary to close part of the path from Springhead Road & Mill Lane, to the bridge into Bumpy Field, [BRIDLEWAY NO. 65 UPLYME]. Devon County Council has issued the formal notice for this under the Road Traffic Regulation Act.
The closure will be in force until 1 July 2018, but it will not be closed for the whole of this period, only when the contractor needs to do so. When it is closed it will not be possible to use the path as a public right of way, except for access to land or premises on or adjacent to the path.
However at some time during this period, the path will be completely closed for 2-3 days, so that the bridge over the river near the old mill that leads into bumpy field, can be replaced.
The formal notices will be put up by the contractor when the closure is required, so walkers should check to see if the sign is in place.
The Lyme Regis to Uplyme path project is being led by LymeForward. If there are any queries about the project, please contact Simon Williams, the River Lim Path Project Coordinator on 07980730004.
