The Chairman and members of Uplyme Parish Council wish to express their sincere condolences to Her Majesty the Queen and members of the Royal Family following the death of Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh.
We are sorry to announce that two past Chairmen of the Council have died recently, and extend our condolences to their family and friends.
Mr Bill Halden was Chairman from 1993 to 1999, and Mr Peter Whiting only resigned as Chairman in late 2014, having been in the post since the end of 2012.
Peter was also the lynchpin of the Neighbourhood Plan Group, and his extensive knowledge of both planning and civil engineering will be hard to replace.
Both men were very active in supporting local residents and will be sadly missed by those who knew them.
Bill’s funeral is at 2pm at the Church on 17th February, and Peter’s also at the Church at 2.30pm on 19th.
