Uplyme Parish Council seeks an experienced Clerk / Responsible Financial Officer (RFO) for its growing parish in the East Devon area.  The successful applicant will be responsible for all aspects of administration including financial record-keeping and monitoring, advising Councillors on policy and procedures, and attending/minuting monthly evening meetings.  This is a part-time, home-based position with a basic 24-hr week and occasional overtime as required.

A 1st March 2021 start-date is envisaged to allow for a reasonable handover period before our current Parish Clerk departs.  Remuneration will be based on the NJR hourly scale in line with qualifications and experience.  Pension benefits are also available.

Candidates must be able to offer: accuracy and attention to detail; excellent communication skills; computer literacy covering MS Office, internet, email, and social media; ability to work alone, use initiative and meet deadlines; an interest in community life; a friendly and positive outlook; a relevant qualification – e.g. Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) – or the commitment to gain one.
